KAIST 어학센터에서 운영하는 한국어 강좌는 한국에 입국하여 거주하고 있는 외국인들이 수강할 수 있는 프로그램입니다. 따라서 KAIST 어학센터는 한국어 연수를 계획한 외국
학생들이 필요로 하는 어떠한 비자 발급 관련 업무도 하지 않습니다. 또한, 한국어 강좌를 수강하는 외부인은 KAIST 학생 기숙사를 사용할 수 없습니다. KAIST 어학센터에서
운영하는 한국어 강좌는 한국어 연수 프로그램이 아니기 때문입니다.

Korean Class
KAIST Language Center is offering Korean classes for KAIST international students (including exchange students), faculty, postdoctoral, and their family at KAIST as well as non-KAIST people.

- ㆍPlacement Test
- How to do the placement test: Your teacher will evaluate you during class hour in the beginning day and S/he recommends the proper level for you after the first day class.
- ㆍRefund
- Tuition refunds will be granted as follows:
- 1. full refund: if dropped before the first scheduled date
- 2. 2/3 refund: if dropped before 1/3 of term period (including beginning day)
- 3. 1/2 refund: if dropped before 1/2 of term period
- 4. no refund: if dropped after 1/2 of term period

Korean Conversation Beginning 1A is divided into 1A-1 and 1A-2 courses. “1A”refers to the level and the name of the textbook (name of the textbook: Sogang Korean 1A). The number “1” at the end refers to the first month of a two-month course, and means that students will study the first half of the 1A textbook.
Course Description
- Conversation 1A & 1B : Able to use simple Korean sentences in greeting
others
- - Able to give self-introductions and count in Korean
- - Able to speak about everyday life and ask for directions
- - Able to introduce life goals and ask others about their abilities
- - Able to discuss a specific event and express personal opinion
- Conversation 2A & 2B : Able to handle basic communication in everyday life, and
use public facilities such as the market, theater, etc.
- - Able to run errands at the market, post office, etc.
- - Able to give suggestions order at a restaurant and deliver messages from others
- - Able to use descriptive language and in direct speech
- - Able to share personal experience and speak in a formal register
- Conversation 3A and higher : Able to communicate fluently in Korean and demonstrates
a fundamental understanding of Korean culture.
- - Able to introduce others and run errands at the bank, immigration office, etc.
- - Familiar with honorific devices, and able to describe appearance, personality, etc.
- - Able to use advanced vocabulary to describe medical symptoms, products, etc.
- - Able to freely express personal opinion and emotions
- Prep for TOPIK : able to get the total scores and cut-off scores by grade
