KAIST Korean Language Center Regular Programs
(Opening in July and September)

"The KAIST Korean Language Institute’s Regular Program" is a Korean language education program for foreigners in the STEM field, catering especially to learners who wish to study at science and technology universities and graduate schools like KAIST. This course cultivates Korean language skills in a systematic process, which would support students in academics and research, allowing them to achieve meaningful outcomes in the field of science and technology.

Eligibility
  • Applicants with a high school diploma or higher who is eligible to apply to KAIST.
  • KAIST visiting researchers
  • Government-invited scholars from the four major science and technology institutes
  • Applicants interested in higher education in science and technology
Documents to be submitted

Online application, ID photo, passport copy, certificate of highest education level achieved, with apostille or consular notarization, academic transcript with apostille or consular notarization, proof of bank account balance (proof of bank account with funds of 10 million KRW or more, issued within 30 days prior), certificate of birth (Certificate of Family Relations) with apostille or consular notarization
However, applicants to the summer semester may submit documents requiring apostille or consular notarization after being accepted to the program

Tuition fees and application submission fee
  • Tuition fee of KRW 2,600,000 (6 months), ※ textbooks not included
    • The tuition fee for the 2025 Korean Language Center's regular program has been set at a special discounted rate of approximately 23% in celebration of the first camp. Please note that from 2026, the standard tuition fee will be gradually applied.
  • Application submission fee of KRW 100,000 (non-refundable)
Dormitory :
Application submitted at the same time as application to the program and payment made after acceptance to the program
Content of education
  • Learning according to individual level
  • Listening, speaking, reading, writing + hands on learning programs on Korea culture
  • Aim to rise one TOPIK grade per semester
  • Korean language learning + basic science subject courses (elective)
